The extraordinary spectacle that is Paris

A shadow falls across Paris

It seems appropriate in this week's blog to reference and celebrate France, especially Paris, given the events of the week.

With travel now being so much more accessible than it once was, it is easy to overlook capitals closer to home. Paris’s extraordinary architecture and cityscape became something worth visiting from Baron Haussmann’s rebuilding project in the nineteenth century; this being topped-off by the erection of the Eiffel Tower at the end of that century, which enabled city visions of a kind that had never been experienced before and changed art and the way artists see. With the Louvre, the D’Orsay Museum, Notre Dame and so much more, it remains an amazing place to visit.
